Diagonal Rib Scarf
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Woll Scarf
I knit this Diagonal Rib scarf using Columbia Minerva wool. The color is Red Wine. It measures 5 1/2 x 52 inches. It took me a long time to complete this scarf. I think that it took so long because I was preparing to go on vacation, then did not finish it until I got home from  vacation. And the pattern called for size 8 needles. I usually use a much larger needle size for scarves. The pattern can be found at http://www.darnyarn.net/large_images/ppdiagonalribwhite.htm

Great looking scarf and I love the Color

Great looking red wine wool scarf!  I think another reason it took long is-- ribbing takes longer, because you have to keep moving the yarn back and forth between the needles.  And the diagonal type ribbing takes a smidgen longer for every row, because you are moving the ribbing over, and doing a knit stitch on top of a purl stitch and other way around.  The ribbing also makes it drape better around the neck, and gives it more depth, more yarn per square inch.  That has to be so good for the lucky person who wears i

It's really a very generous gift, and a wonderful way to share your gift of knitting and of time.
