Desert Boots
Now Playing: warm and comfy
I had some left over yarn from my Bolero sweater, so I used the yarn to knit another pair of slippers. I wear slippers almost every day, so I needed another pair. These slippers are called Desert Boots. The pattern for the boots can be found at http://www.knitlist.com/97gift/desertboots.htm . The yarn that I used is Yarn Bee Icelandic Jewels, the color is dark citrine. I used two strands of yarn held together, so they are very warm, and comfy. The pattern is an easy pattern, just knit and purl. I have a button stash, because I love buttons, and found a button in my stash that matched my yarn perfectly.

Baby Gift
Mood:  happy
A friend of mine is being blessed with another Grandchild. I have been invited to a babyshower for the baby, next weekend. So I made a few things for the baby. A girl that is due in April. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn, in the color Limelight. I like Simply soft yarn , because it is so very, very soft for a baby. The pattern for the booties came from http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/bevs-stay=on-booties.html. The pattern for the hat came from http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/seed-cap.html. The pattern for the shirt/vest came from http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/baby-shirt.html. The shirt/vest is crocheted and only takes about 1/2 hour to make up.

Allison Bolero Sweater
Now Playing: Finally Done!
I have knitted the Allison Bolero Sweater. I used Yarn Bee yarn, Icelandic Jewels, the color dark citrine. The pattern is from http://www.dailyknitter.com/allison.html. I felt like I have knit this entire sweater twice. When I was knitting the back of the sweater, the pattern said to CO 7 stitches. I thought that meant to cast on 7 stitches so I did that. It looked weird to me, but I did it any way. Well it turns out, that in this case CO meant to cast off 7 stitches, so I had to frog the back of the sweater and re knit it. Then I knit the left side of the sweater. It looked OK until I knit the right side of the sweater, and found out that the two sides did not match. So I had frog the left side of the sweater and re knit that. After I got all of the pieces of the sweater knit. I had to sew the sweater together. I got the first sleeve sewn in very nicely, I messed up on the second sleeve, and had to take it out and re sew the second sleeve. But even after all of my trials with this sweater I love it. It is not blocked yet in this picture. I am blocking it right now. Can't wait to wear it!!

Bolero sweater
Now Playing: Allison
I have ripped out and re knitted the back of my sweater. I have the back, left, and right side of my sweater knitted. I am going to have to frog and re knit the left side of my sweater, because the left and right side of my sweater does not look the same. The decrease at the top of the sweater does not match on both sides. I swear that I am going to have to knit this whole sweater twice.

I have Spring Fever
Mood:  hug me
Now Playing: and I am ready for Summer.
I have crocheted a pair of flip flops for my Granddaughter, and myself. They only took me about 10 minutes each to make them. I thought about making a pair last year, but I never got around to it. If I had known that it would only take 10 minutes to make them, I would have taken the time last year to make them. I used a size k crochet hook, and just did a single crochet around the strap of the flip flop. I used 1 strand of Yarn Bee Tempting Girl, the color alaina. Casey and I will be ready for some fun, sunny days.

Color Me Lovely Sweater
Mood:  hug me
Now Playing: A sweater for Casey
I have knit a sweater for my sweet Granddaughter Casey. It is the Color Me Lovely Sweater. I used Yarn Bee Highland Thistle Yarn, in the color loch ness. It took about 10 ounces of yarn to make this sweater. I did not use the recommended yarn for this sweater so I had a problem with the bottom curling up. So I did a single crochet edge around the whole sweater. Then I put a shell edging at the bottom of the sweater, and the problem was solved. After looking at the pattern closer I realized that the sleeves would curl also. I did 1 inch of garter stitch at the beginning of the sleeves to prevent curling and it worked. The colors in this sweater give me Spring Fever. I am sure Casey will just love the sweater. Now I just hope that it fits her. The pattern for this sweater can be found at

Color Me Lovly Sweater
Now Playing: Thank you to my knitting friends
I am knitting the Color Me Lovely sweater for my Granddaughter. I did not used the recommended yarn. I used Yarn Bee yarn, and the bottom of the sweater curled up. I did not know what to do so I talked to some of my on line knitting friends and they have helped me out. I am going to crochet a single crochet edging around the sweater, and then make a shell at the bottom of the sweater. After looking at the pattern closer I see that the sleeves will curl also. I am going to start the sleeves with a garter stitch for about an inch, and I am hoping that will prevent curling on the sleeves.
