Broadripple socks
Mood:
happy
Now Playing: I can knit socks again!!
I was in a sock knitting slump. I just could not knit a sock. I bet that I cast on, and frogged 4 different pair of socks before I found a pattern that I could cast on and knit. These are the Broadripple socks. This is a very easy pattern. Knit on size 3 needles. Their are only 2 rounds in the knit pattern. I followed the pattern exactly for this sock until I got to the toe finishing. The day that I was finishing the toe on this sock. The show Knitty Gritty was on TV. I watched it, and on that show they just gathered the stitches together, and finished the toe like you would the top of a hat. So that is what I did. This is a very easy way to finish the toe of a sock. The heel on this sock is 3 inches long. That is a little to long for me, but I knit the heel just like the pattern said to, and I came out to be 3 inches. The pattern for this sock can be found at http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer03/PATTbroadripple.html I used Knit Picks yarn for these socks.

Feather and Fan scarf
Mood:
cool
I knit this Feather and Fan scarf using Moonlight Mohair yarn. The color coral reef. I really like the color of this scarf. It didn't start out as a Feather and Fan scarf. I was knitting a different pattern, It was very wide and was more like a wrap. I would have had to buy more yarn to complete the wrap, so I frogged it and made this Feather and Fan scarf instead. I followed a dishcloth pattern for a Feather and Fan dishcloth, which will be on my needles this afternoon. I am going to stay in and knit all day because it is very, very cold out today.

Lacy Dish cloths
Mood:
happy
I have knit a couple of Lacy dishcloths, using Bernat Handicrafter cotton. I love the colors of this yarn It is a very soft cotton also. The patterns can be found here at
http://smariek.blogspot.com/ Smariek blogspot. I love her dishcloths. She has said that many of her cloths can also be knit into scarves, and I agree. I think that later in the year I will use a pattern of hers to knit a scarf. The cloth on the left is called Fountain Lace cloth. The cloth on the right is called Small Arrow Cloth. I am going to crochet potholders to go with these cloths, and they will become part of gift sets that I will make up.

Cat's Paw scarf
I knit this Cat's Paw scarf using Sensations Rainbow Boucle yarn. The color of the yarn is burgundies. It started out a deep burgundy then got lighter as I knit the scarf. The color change is very gradual. The pattern for this scarf is at http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/kidm-catspaw-scarf.html

Grandma's Potholders, and A little Lace kitchen Cloth
Mood:
happy
I knit these potholders, and dishcloths, and put them together to form a gift set. The pattern for the potholder can be found at http://www.potholderlady.com This is my very favorite potholder, I use this style all of the time. It is crocheted, and works up very fast. It is the perfect size, and thickness for a potholder. The Lace kitchen cloth can be found at http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dfxhvq2x_45cqhzdx I used Bernat Handicrafter cotton ultrasoft in the color called summerset. I am going to use this potholder and dishcloth set as part of a gift for my husbands cousin, she is getting married in January.
