6 pair of mittens in 2006
Now Playing: sideways mittens
I am going to knit 6 pair of mittens in 2006 for my Native American Support Group. I have finished 2 pair of mittens. They are knit sideways, which is really quick and neat. For the pink mittens I used the pattern at http://users.adelphia.net/~mariella46/Child%20sideways%20mittens.htm
For the yellow mittens I used the pattern at http://users.adelphia.net/~mariella46/mittensv2.htm

Rolled-Edge Sweater
Mood:  happy
I enjoyed knitting this sweater. It is a Rolled-Edge sweater. What I liked the best about this sweater is I learned how to do a 3-needle bind of at the shoulder seams. That really makes the shoulder seams look nice. And the sleeves are picked up stitches along the shoulder, not sewn in. That makes a nice seam also. I like roll-neck sweaters. This was an easy pattern to make. The pattern came from the book Knitting 20 Simple & Stylish Wearables for Beginners, by Catherine Ham.

Showing off my shoulder seams
Now Playing: 3 needle bind-off
I am knitting a sweater for myself. The pattern that I am using calls for a 3 needle bind-off. I have never had to do that before. I sure like the way that it turned out. A 3 needle bind-off makes a lot nicer smother seam.

Felted slippers
I used some of my garage sale wool to make these slippers. I had to wash them twice to get them to fit correctly. The yarn that i used is called Bernat. The pattern for these slippers came from http://www.angelhairyarn.com/freepattern0104.html. These little slippers should keep my toes nice and warm this winter.

Short Sleeve Crew-Neck Sweater
Mood:  hug me
Now Playing: Sweater for Casey
I knit this cute little sweater for my Granddaughter Casey. It is the first time that I have knit a Crew-Neck sweater. I really like the way that the sweater turned out. It only took 1 skein of TLC Essentials yarn, in the color Light Thyme to knit this little sweater for her. The pattern came from the book 25 Gorgeous Sweaters for the Brand-New Knitter. By Catherine Hann.
