Easter Egg Dyed Yarn
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: pink, green, and orange
First I took 2 chairs and set them 60 inches apart. Then I wrapped Knit Picks Bare sock yarn around the chairs. I tied the yarn off in 50 inch sections. Then I soaked the yarn in a vinegar, and water bath. Next I dissolved the Easter egg dye tablets in 3 tablespoons of vinegar. I put 4 tablets into each jar. After that I added water and yarn to the dye mixture. I let the yarn set in the dye for about 3 hours. The yarn came out to be a deep to light pink, deep to light green, and deep to light orange. What I like about using Easter egg dye. You don't have to cook the yarn. You just let it set in the dry for as long as you want to. The longer you leave the yarn in the dye, the darker it gets. their are 6 pics here to look at.

Chain Link Socks
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: 2 color socks
This is my first pair of 2 color socks. I just love them. I used Knit Picks Essential, the color Gulf Stream for the main color of my socks. My Contrasting color is Patons Grace, the color rose. I love the contrast in these 2 colors. It makes the design of the chin link show up nicely. The socks fit perfectly! The pattern for these socks can be found at http://oc-knitiots-freebies.blogspot.com  This pattern was written for 2 circular needles, but I used DPN to knit this pair.

Checked Slip Stitch Cloth

I have finished another 2 color slip stitch cloth. I am ready to knit 2 color socks now. Actually I have cast on my 2 color socks, and have about 1 inch of the cuff done.

The pattern for this cloth can be found at

http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/clothslip.htm

The reason that I knit this cloth with purple and green is, because I had purple and green yarn in my knitting basket next to my knittting chair, so I decided to use the 2 colors together. I was to lazy to walk upstairs to my yarn closet.

Chocolate Raspberry Brownies

Chocolate Raspberry Brownies

12 servings
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup fat-free egg substitutes
1 10 oz. jar sugar-free raspberry preserves, or apricot, or cherry)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup flour

Thoroughly coat a 9x13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray and dust with flour. With an electric mixer, combine sugar and cocoa. Gradually pour in egg substitutes and raspberry jam, beating on low-speed until sugar is no longer grainy. Add vanilla, salt, and almond extract and beat briefly to mix. Combine flour and baking soda and stir in with a flexible rubber spatula. Do not over mix. Turn into prepared pan. Bake in preheated 325-degree oven 30-35 minutes. Brownies should be slightly underbaked but not runny in the center. Allow to cool and cut into 2x2" squares.
