Now Playing: Elizabeth Zimmermann Bog Jacket

I am knitting EZ's Bog Jacket, that is in her book Knitting Around chapter 5. I have put in 3 sets of short rows for shapping in the back of the jacket, and did some waist shaping of the jacket. I am almost to the underarm section of the jacket. At that point I will put in the Phoney side seams.

tea towel for my Mama
I knit these cute little tea towels for my Mother. It only took a couple of days to knit both of them. I find them very handy to have hanging in the kitchen. I used Peaches and Cream cotton for these little towels. The pattern for these tea towels can be found at http://www.woolneedlework.com/Free%20PatternFun/towels_1571.htm

The Knitted Bog Jacket
Mood:  energetic
Now Playing: Elizabeth Zimmermann
I am going to try to knit Elizabeth Zimmermann's Bog Jacket from her book Knitting Around. I have figured out what I want my circumference to be. I have knitted a swatch, so that I can get the gauge for my knitting. I am using Wool-Easy yarn, the color Spring Green. I can not wear wool. It is way to itchy. That is why I chose the Wool-Ease. I am using size 8 circular needles.

Baby Bib
Mood:  special
Now Playing: I am going to be a Great Aunt again
My niece Tiffany is going to have a baby this summer. I have already knit her a baby sweater. Yesterday when I was looking at some baby patterns, I found this cute bib on the Bernat website. I decided that it would be perfect for Tiffani's baby. I knit it using Bernat cottontots, in the color sweet dreams.

Easter Egg Dyed Yarn
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: pink, green, and orange
First I took 2 chairs and set them 60 inches apart. Then I wrapped Knit Picks Bare sock yarn around the chairs. I tied the yarn off in 50 inch sections. Then I soaked the yarn in a vinegar, and water bath. Next I dissolved the Easter egg dye tablets in 3 tablespoons of vinegar. I put 4 tablets into each jar. After that I added water and yarn to the dye mixture. I let the yarn set in the dye for about 3 hours. The yarn came out to be a deep to light pink, deep to light green, and deep to light orange. What I like about using Easter egg dye. You don't have to cook the yarn. You just let it set in the dry for as long as you want to. The longer you leave the yarn in the dye, the darker it gets. their are 6 pics here to look at.
