Knitting 1 Sock at a Time on 1 Long Circular Needle

happyInspired by my knitting friend Ariel, I have knit 1 sock at a time on 1 Long Circular Needle. Ariel directed me to this pattern. It is a very well written pattern, with pictures, and it explained very clearly how to knit 1 sock on 1 circular needle. I did not follow the pattern when I was grafting the toe. It called for a Kitchener stitch. That stitch makes me CRAZY, so I did the 3 needle bind off, and my toe came out just fine. The only problem that I had with this sock was, after knitting the first sock, I poked a hole in my right index finger, so I had to wear a band-aid on my finger the whole time that I knit my second sock. I used Lion Brand Yarn. Magic Stripes, the color is Jelly Bean Stripe. I am sure that I will use this pattern again. The pattern came from

Chocolate Cherry Bars

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
Mix in order given. Bake in a 10 x 15 inch pan at 350* for 30 to 35 mon. or until done.

6 pair of mittens in 2006

The Native American Support group that I belong to is having a mitten blitz. Our challenge was to knit 6 pair of mittens in 2006. I used the sideways mitten pattern, that can be found at
http://users.adelphia.net/~mariella46/Child%20sideways%20mittens.htm It is a nice little mitten pattern to work with. I used different size needles, and different yarn to make different size mittens.

Zucchini Jelly

6 c. zucchini, ground and drained
6c. sugar
1c. crushed pineapple
1/2c. lemon juice
Boil zucchini for 10 minutes. add remaining ingredients and boil for 6 minutes. Remove and add 2 small pkgs. apricot jello. Seal in sterilized jars.
