Diagonal Pattern Baby Blanket
Mood:
special
Now Playing: I am going to be a Great Aunt
![](white1.JPG)
I am going to be a Great Aunt some time next July. So of course as soon as I heard the baby news I had to go yarn shopping, and knit a baby afghan. This is the first baby afghan that I have ever knit. I have crocheted many, many baby afghans. But never knit one. I chose a very easy pattern, and some very pretty baby yarn. The yarn that I used is called Red Heart Baby Clouds, the color is White Swirl. It turned out so pretty. I am sure that it will become a favorite blankey for the little one. The pattern came form http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-diagonalBabyBlanket.html

Bev's REALLY Quick Knit Socks
Mood:
hug me
Now Playing: Socks for Casey
![](socks1.JPG)
I have made another gift for my Granddaughter Casey. A pair of socks. This is the fastest sock pattern ever to knit up. I think that it probably took me 1 hour per sock. I used Red Heart dk plum for the socks, and to glitz them up a bit I used some left of gold glittery yarn that I have. Seems like I want to glitz up everything lately. The pattern for the socks came from http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/quicksocks.html

2 Needle Knit Mittens for Kids
Mood:
hug me
Now Playing: More mittens for my sweet Casey
My favorite person in the world to knit for is my Granddaughter Casey. I found a pattern for 2 needle mittens, for kids that I just love. The pattern can be found at http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/2-needlemitts.html . A really neat thing to do when you are knitting mittens. After they are finished. Brush the inside of the mitten to make them extra warm and fuzzy. I did that to this pair of mittens and it really worked. I know that my Granddaughter will just love these mittens.

No Knot Cravat
Now Playing: Another cold snowy day in South Dakota
I have a girlfriend named Mary. She has MS and her hands and arms don't work very well. They are very stiff and it is difficult for her to move them. I made this scarf for her. I used Yarn Bee Mosaic Twist, the color Fruity. She won't have to fiddle with this scarf, it should keep her neck nice and warm, and she won't have to worry about it falling off. It is a wool blend, so it will be washable, and warm at the same time. I hope that she likes it.

Wrist Warmers
Mood:
happy
Now Playing: left over yarn
I had some left over yarn, and fun fur, and wanted to use the leftovers so I made a pair of wrist warmers. I used 2 strands of pink yarn held together. I used size 7 needles, and cast on 36. I knit with the yarn for 7 1/2 inches, then I added the fun fur and worked with the fun fur for 1/2 inch. I found that pattern at http://www.knitlist.com/01gift/wrist-warmers.htm

My Blizzard Knitting
Mood:
cool
Now Playing: I knit this sweater for my Sister in laws dog Mazie
I used to strands of yarn held together to give this sweater extra warmth. Because it gets very cold in South Dakota in the winter. I made it pink and purple. I added fun fur to the end ribbing on the sweater for cuteness. I hope that it fits Mazie, and I hope that she loves the colors. She should like the colors. Most girls like pink.

Felted Bag
I have just finished felting another bag. I did not use the yarn that the pattern called for. I wanted to try the pattern with some yarn that I had on hand. I used 1 strand of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, in the color rain, and 1 strand of Yarn Bee Gilt Eyelash the color Watersparks. The URL for the pattern is http://knitting.about.com/library/nicebag.htm
It was a very easy pattern. I washed the bag twice because I didn't think that it felted enough the first time. Before I felted the bag it was 12 1/2 inches wide and 13 1/2 inches tall. After felting it was 12 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches tall. I am going to sew a button on the front of the bag as soon as it dries. I made a loop at the top of the bag for a closer.

Snow
Mood:
cool
It is snowing in South Dakota this morning. My little puppy Elvis didn't really know what to think of the snow when I let him out this morning. He sure didn't stay out long.
